~The Hutch Has Gone White~

Hello everyone, I hope you've had a great weekend. We've had another round of snow, some areas got as much as 8", I think we had right at 6". As I was finishing up this post, my driveway fairy came and cleaned out the lane, and around the shop area. What a keeper he is. :-))

Over the past few weeks I've admired the white ironstone going in all the hutch's. I decided to shop the house to see if I had enough to fill the dining room hutch. This first picture is a bit on the grainy side, but I wanted to show you the pear in the center cabinet. It has been there "forever". I've always liked seeing just the hint of yellow with all the green I had going on, until I pulled it all out and realized I like the finished project a lot more. Do you ever do that, like what you've done and once you change it you realized you were just stuck in a rut and needed to shake things up a bit?
This is how the shelf looked after I stripped the Christmas. Wow! Is it crazy full or what? Go ahead you can say it, it's OVER full!!! I guess this is where I tell myself just because I make displays like this in the shop, I don't have to do displays like this in my home. Sometimes less is more. :-))
A shot of the plates and sherbet glasses, that have been there , "forever"!!!
I'll hush for a bit and let you look at the hutch as it sits now.

I'm pleased as punch with the way the hutch turned out. I'm not sure about the green pears, they'll stay for now until; I can come up with a bit more white ironstone pieces. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the transformation. Until next time.....
hugs ~lynne~

I really like the white. However, I am not a good one to make decisions about things like this, as I tend to leave things the same for LONG periods of time. Sorry about the snow - We got lucky on this last round. I have had enough - I need some Vitamin D (sunshine) bad!
Have a great week.

I love your redo, Lynne! I need to do the same thing...but I need to do it all over the house! Thanks for the inspiration!

We had just a dusting last night....I was expecting several inches. So glad we caught a break this time. Yes, you have yourself quite a snow remover there!!!! Good for you!

Lynn, the hutch looks fresh with the white dishes and the pears. Great idea! The lamp on the books is a nice touch for the hutch. Loving your black and white dogs. ~ Sarah

Hi Lynne! I love the white plates with the pears. There's something about beautiful white dishes, "paired" along with "pears"...*snicker, snort*...that is just so beautiful and lovely and peaceful! We got about 10 inches of snow the other day and about 2 inches today! Unbelievable for this part of the country, isn't it?! But I do love it!

Lynne, it looks fabulous! I wish I could learn that "more is less" thingy. I don't have a store, but my home looks like a store. It's just so hard for me to hide anything away. Your hutch looks beautiful enough to inspire me to get some stuff boxed up. Now, it's just a matter of making myself get out of this chair and do it. laurie

Love it, love it! What a transformation. I thought it was beautiful before, but I love how crisp and bright it is now. We have matching doggies. I like the fact that you added them back in. I agree, we all get into ruts sometimes and just need to do a little "home Shopping" to shake things up a bit. :)

Lynne:

Just read your comment on Jessica's blog and had to stop by. I won't reiterate what I wrote there but I too have had a different journey than I thought I was going to have through blogging. This year has been a horrible financial year for us and we're barely hanging on. We're hoping the economy starts to improve soon or we just may not be able to keep going. My family is what keeps me going. I can't do those crafty things right now or update the house but I enjoy seeing what others do. I guess my blog bored some to death bz they don't stop by anymore. Most of my comments are by email now but I still don't get as many as you have here when I posted so it looks like you do have support still!

Keep your head held high and you can stop in to see me at any time. I don't update as much as I used to bz life has become a bit boring around here. That's okay though I'll take boring over drama, lol!

Big virtual hugs are being sent your way from me!
Cindy

Hi-
I like the new look! I just did my curio cabinet over too!
I know what you mean about a rut..you leave it the same way or use the same things and then you realize it needs a new look! Great job!
That John Deere tractor is super duper big! We have one, but not nearly so large! We live in northern Michigan and get a lot of snow here too! Your scenery looks like it could be Michigan!

I love it! It's exactly what I needed to see. Bought a nice maple shelf at a garage sale for 20.00, added it to the one I already have and can't wait to get them painted...before Halloween I hope. I'm sorry. I know some won't agree with me..but to me, less IS not more. I like lots to look at. I love your hutch! It's gorgeous..and yes you DO need to do it at home as well as the shop!
Otherwise how would we see all your pretties?! Hmmmmm??? :)
